Seasons opener

On Saturday 24th Havering Ladies 2's opened their 22-23 season with a match at home against Old Loughtonians ladies 3's. Havering started well but despite some good work in the middle of the field by Martine Po and Nicola Earl stopping Old Loughts breaking gaining an advantage, the visitors produced some fast play down the right wing and Old Loughts were ahead early. This was quickly followed up by another from Old Loughtonians giving them a 2-0 lead. Havering then looked to settle down and get into the game with Rae Ahmed and Emma Isherwood linking up well up front to get the ball into the Old Loughts D with Ahmed very unlucky not to score from the left post. Isherwood followed up to win Havering their first short corner, but this unfortunately ran wide. The first half finished Old Loughts in the lead from their two early goals.

Havering started the second half much stronger with Frankie Joyce and Emilie Molly putting in great tackles for Havering to keep Old Loughts from scoring. Ruby Lendon worked hard on the right wing with Sue Bartlett from right defence continuing to enable Havering to attack into the Old Loughts half, earning Havering a couple of short corners which the home side were unlucky not to convert. Old Loughts eventually took the 3 points but Havering have lots of positives to take forward to their next match against Chelmsford this coming Saturday.
