L2 miss out on points against Wapping

Havering Ladies 2s put on a battling performance and showed a lot of grit and determination in their away game at Wapping. Wapping took the lead with a well taken penalty corner strike and added a second in similar fashion. Alex and Catherine Semon both went close in the first half but Havering found themselves trailing at half time. They began the second half strongly but couldn't quite convert their possession. Wapping were strong, with lots of subs available and only good work from the Havering defence stopped them adding to their score. Emily Milloy, Karen Smith, Laura Griffin and Sue Bartlett were working well together. Catherine Semon, Monica Dubb, Chris Noller and Nic Earle worked hard in midfield. Havering finally pulled one back when Emma Isherwood tucked away a penalty corner from a good routine involving Nicki Cast, Alex and Catherine Semon. Alex Semon then thumped in a penalty corner strike to pull Havering level. Wapping fought back and went ahead but Havering immediately battled back and a good run from Isherwood saw the ball fall to Alex Semon and her pass was finished well by Catherine Semon. Havering thought they had gained a draw but Wapping went ahead again in the final few minutes.
