Havering Ladies put in an amazing performance at Crostyx Ladies 2s to come away with an 8-2 victory. Determined to put the disappointment of their narrow defeat the previous week behind them, Havering were strong from the off. Within minutes they had seen several chances cleared away but persistence paid off and Amelia Acreman slapped home the rebound from Sue Harwood's shot. Havering soon added a second when Steph Prowse firmly struck a penalty corner home. Havering dominated the game, playing some delightful hockey, passing confidently and defending well. Crostyx kept battling but Bukki Olodo, Wendy Schofield, Louise Burgess, Charlotte Chamberlin and Prowse were all quick to break down potential attacks. Acreman, Emily Gilkes-Tarsey and Zoe Bleakley, making her first team debut all caused problems with their driving runs whilst Emily Martin and Harwood kept up the pressure on the hosts' defence. The constant pressure paid off and Harwood grabbed Havering's third goal. Crostyx continued to battle and converted a dubious penalty corner just on half time. Havering however came out even stronger for the second half and quickly added another goal, Gilkes-Tarsey deflecting Acreman's cross. Harwood got Havering's fifth, neatly taking the ball around the keeper. Martin was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet after seeing several shots saved but Harwood was able to get her hat trick and Havering's sixth by putting away a rebound from Martin. Gllkes-Tarsey scored the seventh, tucking away Bleakley's cross. Harwood got the eighth, again scoring from close range. Crostyx pulled one back with just minutes to go but Havering deservedly took all three points. It was a fabulous team performance and moves Havering up the league table.
