Havering Ladies 1s secured an impressive 5-0 victory over Harwich & Dovercourt in their away game, with the team putting on a solid performance across all areas of the pitch. From the first whistle, Havering controlled the game, displaying excellent attacking play alongside resolute defending that left their opponents with few opportunities.

The opening goal came courtesy of Sue Harwood, who displayed excellent composure and skill as she dribbled past the Harwich goalkeeper to open the scoring. Her determination and quick feet set the tone for the match, showing the Harwich defenders they would have their hands full.

The second goal was another fine example of teamwork. A well-timed run from Sue Harwood down the left wing saw her deliver an inch-perfect cross to Emily Martin, who was in the right place at the right time to tap the ball home at the back post.

Sue was again at the heart of the action for the fourth goal, after receiving the ball, she dribbled past three Harwich defenders before rounding the goalkeeper and slotting the ball into the back of the net.

In addition to the attacking prowess, the Havering defence was outstanding, with Bukki, Charlotte, and Bethan ensuring that goalkeeper Lucy had little to do throughout the match. Lucy was called into action only once, but she made a crucial save from a well-executed Harwich short corner, preserving her clean sheet and further demonstrating her reliability when needed.

On the right-hand side, Laura made several runs down the line and delivering dangerous balls into the D. 

While the Harwich goalkeeper was forced into some impressive saves from Katie and Emily GT and a great stop from Alex’s powerful shot, the visitors’ defence was no match for Havering’s relentless attacking display.

The 5-0 result was a comprehensive one, with Havering showing why they are one of the top teams in the league. Strong performances from all areas of the team ensured a well-deserved victory and a solid three points on the road.
