A score line that didn't accurately reflect the match and perhaps a little harsh considering the efforts of this developing Havering side.
Havering handed League debuts to Paul Mitchley, Robert Chart and James Willcocks and there were many positives to take from the match, particularly the fluency and urgency found late in the second half which betrayed the fact that Havering had no substitutes to lend fresh legs at the end of the match.
A late, sumptuous team play starting from the back, through midfield to the right hand side would surely have been a contender for goal of the season, as forward Martin John struck the shot from the pullback sweetly, only to see it flash past the far post with the goalkeeper beaten.
A goal would have been some consolation for the outstanding effort offered by the team, but debutant Robert Chart playing at Centre Back in his first ever hockey match earned the Havering Team Man of the Match.
