A comprehensive defeat to second placed Waltham Forest ended Havering’s promotion hopes with two games remaining.
Havering got off to the worst possible start when the visitors pressed high up the pitch, won possession and finished the opportunity with a deft near post finish to take an early lead.
Forest soon doubled the lead from close range as Havering struggled to get into the game.
Havering improved marginally in the second half but still failed to create many clear chances. At the other end, the hosts goalkeeper Graham Walker was forced into a number of sharp saves to keep the game alive.
Eventually the pressure told and Forest scored a third to secure the points and an unassailable seven point gap between themselves and Havering.
Raff Evans’ scored late consolation for Havering after good work down the right hand side from captain Ryan Lee, but Forest were able to see out the remainder of the game comfortably.
