Havering II 2 - Thurrock 0
A controlled performance saw Havering to a comfortable 2-0 victory in the local derby against Thurrock.
Havering took the lead mid way through the first half when Mike Jolly deflected in Haydn Joslin’s pass from a short-corner.
The hosts remained solid at the back with stand-in goalkeeper Billy Wilson barely troubled, but failed to make the most of several chances at the other end.
Despite dominating possession after the break, Havering continued to struggle to score the crucial second goal and secure the points. Bill Birbeck came close but was quickly closed down by the Thurrock goalkeeper while clean through on goal.
As the visitors pushed for an equaliser the game opened up and more opportunities presented themselves to Havering. Eventually, Birbeck finished off from close range when played in by Roger Hiett to guarantee the win.
