Crostyx III 1 - Havering II 5
A strong second half performance saw Havering to a convincing win in wet conditions at Crostyx.
Roger Hiett opened the scoring for the visitors from the penalty spot after Mike Caruana-Smith's goal bound effort was illegally blocked on the line by the foot of a Crostyx defender. This proved to be the only goal in a tight first half, with neither side really able to control the game.
Havering were much improved in the second half and soon doubled their lead through Andy Meehan. Chris Dunn then converted from close range to seemingly secure the points for Havering. However, the hosts pulled a goal back to give themselves hope when Havering failed to block a long through pass and the ball was scrambled home past 'keeper Luke Ray.
Havering retained possession well throughout the closing stages of the match and did not allow Crostyx any further chances to get themselves back into the game. As the game drew to a close and the hosts, who had no substitutes, began to tire, Havering consolidated their lead through another goal for Meehan and a first goal for the club for Jack Downes.
