Havering Men - 2 Herford Men -1

First game of the season, Havering 1’s are back in action with a Bang!
Having had the summer off hockey, Havering started the season with a 2-1 win at Home Vs Hertford.
The first half havering had multiple short corners, with the Hertford keeper making some great saves and some close range missed from opportunities for Havering.
With the first half ending 0-0 Havering came out second half fighting to break the deadlock.

Finally Havering managed to convert a short corner with Alastair Lewis’s pass finding Paul Johnson who deflected the ball past the keeper to put havering 1-0 up in the 47th minute.

Having taken the lead Hertford came back strong with some great saves from keeper Andy Gaut, keeping the score at 1-0, however from a turnover of the ball Havering found themselves in a 4 vs 3 situation at the back where Hertford equalised.

1-1 with 15 minutes left to go, Havering were pushing for the winning goal. Alastair Lewis turned on the magic once again to win Havering another short corner, where his individual skills taking on 2 players at the top of the D before passing to Andy Meehan who passed the ball across goal where Liam Appleyard finished the winner!

Herford pressured Havering for the last 10 minutes however they were unable to find another goal, Final result Havering 2 Hertford 1, great 3 points to start off the season and they will now take their confidence forward looking forward for another 3 points vs St Albans this coming weekend.
