Havering 1s vs Colchester 1s

Havering travelled away to Colchester looking to compound their league position with back to back wins. Colchester started well and looked to be a very well drilled side. It took only 4 minutes before the home side broke the deadlock via a clinical breakaway from deep in their half. Several well executed passes later their centre forward expertly dispatched the ball into the net. 1-0 Colchester.

Havering reacted well with solid performances from the centre trio of Harry Andrews, Adam Willet and Paul Dover helping to win the midfield battle. The breakthrough finally came after great build up from the defence and interplay between the midfield and forward line.

Paul Dover played a direct ball into the D to Hayden Joslin who managed to shoot under pressure from several Colchester defenders. The goalie saved well but Toshan Patel pounced to gather the ball from the rebound and slotted it past the grounded keeper. 1-1

Halftime came and went, Colchester continued to press and threatened the Havering goal on many occasion. Man of the Match Andy Gaut pulled off some fantastic saves to keep Havering in the game.

Midway through the half, Havering won a short corner after some great build up play. Harry Andrews stepped up and dispatched a clinical flick to the left mid section of the goal. 2-1 Havering.

Havering dug deep and team spirt prevailed. Paul Johnson and Ollie Hinton selflessly continued despite injury, and the rest of the team rallied to absorb waves of pressure from a talented opponent. The game finished 2-1 with Havering being the victors for the second weekend in a row. Havering climbed to 4th and host Waltham Forest next weekend.
