Yesterday club stalwarts Dave and Mick Farnham, Keith Etheridge and Geoff Johnson travelled to Somerset to catch up with their old form teacher, Bill Greenwood, who introduced them to Hockey back in the late 60’s.
Along with George Rees and Kenny Johnson this group were instrumental in the expansion of Honchurch HC which then evolved to Havering HC in the early 70's.
Bill was celebrating his 90th birthday and had tracked the boys down to be part of his celebration.
He is still playing hockey for England over 85’s.
Shows there is still hope for everyone to keep playing at the top whatever their age
They had a great day reminiscing - lots of laughs - hockey family - friends forever x
