On Saturday Havering Ladies 2s faced local rivals Upminster 4s in their rearranged fixture from the cold snap in January. Both teams came out looking for a win with the top of the top of the table looking very close. Havering started very strongly earning a penalty corner early from which Emilie Molloy shot from the top of the D which the keeper deflected, which Rae Ahmad had been able to pick up and shoot into the left corner for the first score of the game. Upminster looked to counter with a short corner themselves which levelled the scores. Tash Mangion put in brilliant tackles from the right back for Havering with Emma Isherwood finding some great spaces up front for Nic Earl and Emilie Molloy to try and feed passes through from the back. Upminster battled hard and scored again despite great saves from Louisa Sillet to try and keep the scores level. Shortly before half time Rae Ahmad hooked the ball back from a defenders flat stick straight into the left bottom corner to score again for Havering bringing the score to 2-2 at half time.
With all to play for in the second half Havering looked to counter Upminster in the middle of the pitch trying to cut off the space and spare players. Brilliant running from Ruby Lendon down the left hand side continuing to find space with Teagan Bunn on fire up front making space and taking the ball into the Upminster 25 continuously. Great team work from the midfield and upfront with no one giving up on the delfections off the keeper, ended with Ruby Lendon able to score for Havering. Upminster fought hard and continued to keep the pace high right to the end. A great game ended 3-2 to Havering with Teagan Bunn voted player of the match.
