Southend & Benfleet 2's vs. Havering 2's

On Saturday 9th December Havering ladies 2's were away in a closely fought match with Southend and Benfleet 2's. Both teams having come down the season before each were looking to keep the points tally going by winning. Southend and Benfleet looked to make some breaks with some good linking passes down the centre with a couple of high players in the Havering D. Sue Bartlett's great tackles and awareness along with great calm from Louisa Sillet in goal ensured they were unable to score. Teagan Bunn continued to work hard for Havering from right forward collecting balls from the centre and making brilliant runs up the right hand side. Rae Ahmed and Jessie Watson continued running up front to try and get on the end of the balls coming through from the defence however were unlucky not to be able to convert in the first half.

Into the second half 0-0 both teams were looking for a goal. Brilliant running down the right wing from Teagan Bunn and great linking with Amy Kilner enabled Havering to attack down into the Southend and Benfleet half earning a short corner. A hit out to Cidney Payton at the top and a pass back to Emilie Molloy was unlucky not to go in. Havering shortly earned another short however were unlucky not to convert. Further into the second half Southend and Benfleet looked stronger in the Havering half and continued to attack into the Havering D. Fantastic tackling from Tasha Mangion and Emilie Molloy kept Southend and Benfleet out. With Louisa Sillet keeping calm in goal with great saves keeping the score at 0-0, even with a flurry of short corners to the home team.
