Three more points for Ladies 1's with two goals from Alex Semon

Havering Ladies returned to winning ways with a good performance away at Romford. Being a local derby Havering knew their hosts would be determined to make it difficult and it was Romford who made the stronger start, getting into the Havering circle. Player of the match, GK Tamara Bailey was, however, in superb form and denied Romford from gaining a lead. After that initial threat Havering began to assert themselves on the game and put some good passes together to start to create opportunities to score. They took the lead when Emma Isherwood latched onto Sue Harwood's quickly taken free hit, dribbled the ball around the defender and pulled it back for Alex Semon to drive it in beyond the keeper's reach. Havering were unlucky not to add a second soon after from a penalty corner. Catherine Semon's strike was saved but Harwood tapped in the rebound only to have it disallowed, the ball being judged to have glanced her foot. Undeterred Havering continued to apply pressure and with Steph Prowse commanding the defence well Romford found it hard to get back into the match. Havering began the second half strongly with Lauren Earle, Hollie Dawkins and Nic Earl making good runs, keeping Romford on the back foot. Vicky Lynch and Alex Semon both had shots saved before Alex Semon neatly placed Earle's cross for her second. Havering then survived a flurry of Romford penalty corners to maintain the 2-0 final score.
