Havering Ladies - 2 Tunbridge Wells ladies - 0
Two second half goals brought Havering a win and a clean sheet against Tunbridge Wells.
The first half was a fairly even affair, both teams having chances, but neither was able to get ahead with the defences proving difficult to break down. Havering's keeper Sophie McCoy made several good saves and clearances but was rarely troubled as the defence of Bukki Olodo, Sam Cash, Wendy Schofield, Alison Floyd and Monica Dubb worked well together to give away many chances. Wells had a couple of penalty corners but all were cleared away. Sue Harwood and Emily Martin saw chances cleared and the first half ended with no score. Havering changed formation for the second half and this soon brought a reward when Martin beautifully deflected in Charlotte Chamberlin's penalty corner shot to put Havering ahead. Hollie Dawkins, Harwood and Chamberlin took control of the midfield and Wells struggled to get out of their defensive half for a while. Emily Gilkes-Tarsey had a couple of chances and with her, Martin and Katie Griggs moving well up front, Havering began to put more pressure on the visitor's goal. Martin intercepted a free hit, took the ball down the wing and passed to Gilkes-Tarsey who crossed to Emma Isherwood in front of goal. In a bit of a scramble, Isherwood forced the ball over the line for Havering's second. Wells tried to fight back but their lack of substitutes began to tell and Havering were comfortable for the win.
