Havering Ladies produced a stunning second half performance at Campion to come from 2 goals down and earn a draw against second placed Sevenoaks with 2 goals from Emily Gilkes-Tarsey.

Sevenoaks started strongly and quickly put Havering under pressure, with keeper Sophie McCoy called early into action. Havering soaked up the pressure with Bukki Olodo and Wendy Schofield controlling the centre of the defence. Louise Burgess and Sue Harwood caused problems with their attacking runs down the wings but Sevenoaks defended well and kept control of the game. Their hard work paid off as they took the lead after some clever interplay and a good shot from a tight angle. Havering tried to get back into the game but Sevenoaks were well organised and made it very difficult for them. Another set of good passes brought the visitors' second goal. McCoy made a good initial save but Sevenoaks forced the loose ball over the line. Havering came out with a bang for the second half and soon earned a penalty corner. Charlotte Chamberlin slipped the ball to Gilkes-Tarsey who saw her first shot saved but the rebound came straight back to her and she calmly lifted the ball over the grounded keeper and into the far corner of the goal. This gave Havering the belief they could get something from the game and Sevenoaks rarely got out of their defensive half throughout the rest of the game. Chamberlin took full control in midfield with Burgess and Harwood continuing to make their strong runs. Emily Martin and Katie Griggs made good movement in the front line and kept stretching the Sevenoaks defence. When they did break through Olodo, Schofield, Hollie Dawkins and Nic Earl were quick to break down the attack. Havering should have drawn level earlier than they did after an excellent drive by Harwood led to a cross across the front of the goal but just evading Emma Isherwood's stick. The equaliser did come though after a driving run from Dawkins led to a penalty corner. Despite an initial mix up at the top, Isherwood got a shot away which Gilkes-Tarsey cleverly deflected into the goal. Havering almost gained all three points right at the end as another penalty corner was scrambled away by Sevenoaks. Havering should be very proud of the way they turned the game around and secured what initially seemed to be an unlikely, but became a thoroughly deserved, point.
