Just 7 minutes into the game they were awarded a penalty corner, Izzy Purdie deflecting in Emily Gilkes-Tarsey's strike. With Havering's midfield of Charlotte Chamberlin, Sue Harwood, Katie Griggs and Emily Martin controlling the game it was tough for Forest to get back into the game. Keeper Sophie McCoy dealt easily with the few shots that did come in. Havering built up a good spell of pressure and had a series of penalty corners but Forest defended well and kept the ball out. Louise Burgess, running from the back and Harwood kept creating problems for Forest as they struggled to deal with their pace and skill. Gilkes-Tarsey, Martin and Purdie all saw chances go just wide or be saved and the first half ended with Havering one goal to the good. Five minutes into the second half saw Havering awarded a penalty corner and they executed a new routine discussed at half time. A quick change of direction allowed Gilkes-Tarsey to get a shot away and the ball was deflected into the top corner by the oncoming defender. Havering's defence held firm and Bukki Olodo, Burgess, Nic Earle and Alison Floyd rarely looked troubled. Forest did manage to get a couple of shots away but they went wide. With just minutes to go Emma Isherwood managed to run the clock down, holding on to the ball in the corner and Havering secured their second win and move themselves up to 8th.
