Gore Court seal the points at Campion

Havering Ladies hosted Gore Court at Campion but again were plagued by unavailability and injury, so had just the bare eleven players. Those eleven put in an excellent effort, beginning the game strongly and playing with gritted determination throughout the match. Gore Court took the lead when a hard cross caught an attacker's stick to deflect into the top corner. Havering came straight back and a perfectly executed penalty corner routine saw Alex Semon equalise. Semon then turned provider, picking up Sue Harwood's through ball and slipping it to Emily Martin whose shot deflected in off the goalkeeper. Havering continued to press but couldn't quite get the final ball to fall right as Gore Court defended well. A penalty corner brought the visitor's an equaliser and the first half remained 2-2. Gore Court came out strongly and took the lead early in the second half. Havering had several penalty corner chances and were unlucky not to equalise, Semon's shot going in just above the legal height. With 5 minutes to go Gore Court had a stroke of luck, the ball going in off the attacker's leg, undetected, to extend their lead and secure the victory.
