Goals from Emma Isherwood and Anna Webb enough to see off Redbridge and Ilford

Havering Ladies 2 Redbridge and Ilford Ladies 1

Havering Ladies hosted Redbridge and Ilford at Campion hoping to get back to winning ways. They got off to a good start and soon won a series of penalty corners. After seeing one saved and another hit the post, Emma Isherwood finally struck home to put Havering ahead. Havering continued to pile on the pressure, Louise Burgess, Charlotte Chamberlin and Blaise Copeland made excellent runs into the attacking circle. Vicky Morrison and Sue Harwood were unlucky not to add to the score but it was Redbridge who next got on the scoresheet. In an uncharacteristic ten minutes the Havering defence made a few errors which allowed Redbridge to not just equalise but also take the lead. Havering refocussed and began to take hold in midfield again. Morrison dribbled into the attacking circle and found Emily Martin on the backline. Martin saw a small gap and fired home from a tight angle to bring Havering level again. The second half saw Havering again dominate from the start but finding it hard to break through the visitors' defence. Again lots of penalty corner chances went begging, Catherine Semon and Isherwood were on target but the Redbridge keeper made excellent saves and the defence scrambled the ball away. Havering continued to battle though and were rewarded when Chamberlin took a quick free hit, found Harwood, who committed the keeper and then slipped the ball to Anna Webb to score and put Havering ahead. Redbridge tried to force their way back into the game but Havering goalkeeper Sophie McCoy was on good form and ably supported by Burgess, Steph Prowse, Chamberlin, Wendy Schofield and Bethan Isherwood. Katie Griggs, Martin and Webb all had chances but were again denied by some excellent keeping. Havering were pleased to come away with the win.
