Havering Ladies - 2 Southendan and Benfleet Ladies - 0
Havering Ladies hosted Southend and Benfleet hoping to get back to winning ways. From the start Havering were strong, the defensive unit of Steph Prowse, Chris Noller, Louise Burgess, Wendy Schofield and Sue Bartlett quickly nullifying the pacy forwards the opposition had. Soon into the match Burgess ran through several players, took the ball wide in the attacking circle and fired home to put Havering in the lead. Havering kept the momentum going with Charlotte Chamberlin, Lauren Earle, Bethan Isherwood and Vicky Morrison dominating the midfield. A second goal came when Emma Isherwood's penalty corner strike was deflected in off the keeper's pads. Southend and Benfleet fought back and created a few chances of their own which goalkeeper, Sophie McCoy, saved well. The second half again began with Havering being strong but the visitor's defending well. Bethan Isherwood saw a good shot saved and several penalty corner chances went begging. Emily Martin, Sue Harwood and Emma Isherwood all had opportunities but went just wide or had shots saved. Southend and Benfleet created a few of their own chances which went just wide. Burgess made a superb goal-line clearance to keep them off the scoresheet. Havering kept battling, Katie Griggs, Martin and Harwood all continued to pressure the defence. Earle, Chamberlin and Morrison kept pushing forward but Havering could not add to their score and the game finished 2-0 in Havering's favour.
