Havering Ladies 6 Thurrock Ladies 1
Havering Ladies hosted Thurrock at Campion and were looking to build on their opening success. Havering began brightly and took the lead through Sue Harwood. Thurrock equalised through a penalty corner, the ball deflecting off a Havering stick. Amelia Acreman put Havering ahead again just before half time with a cracking shot from the top of the circle. Having then went on to dominate the second half, Thurrock rarely getting out of their defensive half, leaving keeper Sophie McCoy with little to do and the Havering defence of Steph Prowse, Charlotte Chamberlin, Louise Burgess and Wendy Schofield quickly broke down any attacks. Burgess' run in the second half resulted in a shot which Chris Noller picked up to deflect in the rebound on her reverse. Acreman in the fourth goal too, her strike causing a goalmouth scramble which Harwood put away. Catherine Semon and Harwood linked up play through midfield setting up Harwood for a strike which Emily Gilkes-Tarsey was unlucky not to deflect in but Semon was there for the rebound. A sixth and final goal came when Rhiannon Goulden tucked away Harwood's shot. A good performance all round maintaining Havering's good start.
