Good win for Ladies 1's on their return to East League

Redbridge Ladies - 0 Havering Ladies - 1
Havering Ladies began their return to the East League with a well deserved victory away at Redbridge and Ilford. They began the match strongly putting the Redbridge defence under early pressure but couldn't quite find the space to get a shot away. Havering continued to play their own style of hockey and the pressure finally told as Rhiannon Goulden put on a good ball to Emma Isherwood who slipped to Amelia Acreman at the top of the circle. Acreman's initial shot was saved but she followed up well to bounce the rebound past the keeper and put Havering ahead. Redbridge struggled to get a hold on the game, Havering keeper Sophie McCoy only having to make 2 saves throughout the match and both of those fell in the first half. With the Havering defence of Steph Prowse, Wendy Schofield, Charlotte Chamberlin, Louise Burgess and Sue Harwood quickly clearing up before Redbridge could make it into the final 25 of the pitch Havering dominated the match. Catherine Semon, Chris Noller, Acreman, Chamberlin and Harwood worked hard in midfield to keep up the forward pressure. Anna Webb was unlucky not to add a second meeting several crosses but just putting the ball wide whilst Isherwood hit the post with a well struck shot from the top of the circle. Emily Gilkes-Tarsey, Semon and Harwood all saw shots saved from numerous penalty corners and so Havering finished with a 1-0 win.
