Havering Ladies gave a commanding performance to secure a 5-1 victory over Phoenix at Campion. They dominated from the start Anna Webb sliding in a reverse sweep just minutes into the game. Catherine Semon soon added a second from a penalty corner after good battling by Amelia Acreman. A third came before 20 minutes when Semon slipped the ball to Emma Isherwood and then glanced in Isherwood's goalbound shot. A lapse in pace and focus allowed Phoenix to pull one goal back but Havering then recovered and the defence of Steph Prowse, Wendy Schofield, Monica Dubb and Sue Harwood held firm. The second half began in similar fashion to the first, Semon passing to Isherwood who lifted the ball into the path of Webb whose shot was saved but Emily Gilkes-Tarsey was on hand to put the rebound away with a reverse sweep. Chris Noller was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet with a great defection attempt and Isherwood, Lauren Earle and Rhiannon Goulden also went close. Semon scored the final goal with a well struck penalty corner. A great team performance which keeps Havering on top of the Essex Premier League.
