Ladies 1's consolidate their top of the table position

Havering Ladies put on a convincing performance to beat Brentwood 2s 6-0 at home at Campion School. They took the lead just minutes into the game when Catherine Semon dribbled around a defender and passed to provide Emma Isherwood with a tap in opportunity which was duly converted. Semon then added a goal of her own driving into the circle and seeing her strike hit a defender's stick but continue through to the goal as the keeper kicked over the top of the ball. Emily Gilkes-Tarsey almost added a third soon after but her shot went just inches wide. However another chance came her way as she ran onto Steph Prowse's ball through and struck it well into the far corner of the goal. Havering grabbed a fourth when Lauren Earle put a ball into Semon's path. After a series of quick passes between Semon and Vicky Lynch, Lynch had the space to fire in a shot. The second half saw Brentwood try to rally but solid defending from Prowse, Wendy Schofield, Chris Noller and Sue Harwood
left Sophie McCoy in goal having very little to do. Havering kept applying pressure with Earle, Semon, Lynch, Amelia Acreman and Rhiannon Goulden all working hard to keep Brentwood on the back foot. The reward came when Prowse got the ball out to Isherwood on the wing who then sent a ball through for Gilkes-Tarsey to again run onto and beat the keeper for her second. Isherwood grabbed her second and Havering's 6th, picking up a ball down the wing from Harwood, rounding the defenders and striking from the top of the circle into the corner of the goal and securing the win for Havering that keeps them at the top of the table.
