Dropped points set up crucial clash with league leaders this weekend

Havering Ladies hosted Romford at Campion hoping to continue their winning streak but it was not to be. Despite dominating for long periods of the game Havering could not find a way through the solid Romford defence. Catherine Semon forced a goal line save with a well struck penalty corner strike but Romford took the lead with a break away goal after Havering had been applying pressure in the Romford circle. Havering battled back and finally grabbed a deserved equaliser from a penalty corner, Monica Dubb picking up the loose ball and combining with Emma Isherwood to set up Anna Webb. The second half continued in the same vein with much of the play in the Havering attacking half but with the home team unable to convert that pressure frustration set in and they began to lose their shape. Isherwood hit the inside of the post only to see the ball deflect back onto the pitch where unfortunately no Havering player was waiting. Romford capitalised with 2 further break away opportunities to ensure Havering suffered their first loss of the season. Havering go to Southend and Benfleet next for a crucial top of the table clash knowing they must win.
