Havering Men II 2 – Clacton Men 4
Havering fell to a 4-2 defeat to high flying Clacton in their first outing following the Christmas break.
The hosts started well and controlled possession without creating many chances, although Ryan Adcock went close. The visitors scored first against the run of play as a powerful short-corner strike beat 'keeper Luke Ray. Clacton struck twice more before the break with two counter attacks to give them a flattering 3-0 lead.
Havering rallied early in the second half with top scorer Adam Willett pulling one back as his effort from a short-corner was deflected in to his own goal by a Clacton defender. However any hopes of a comeback were soon dashed as Clacton struck again to give them an unassailable 4-1 lead. Mike Caruana-Smith netted a late consolation for Havering with a well-placed strike, but it was too little, too late.
