Braintree 2's vs Havering 2's

Havering started out strongly as they always do, letting the ball do the work and playing it around the Braintree players. However, against the run of play, Braintree broke through the middle and converted a short corner into the bottom right corner. A few minutes later, another short corner was converted by the hosts as Gareth Cast got a good stick to it, but it deflected over the Havering keeper, Paul Afteni, into the top right corner.

Havering didn't let their heads go down however and kept fighting. The best chance for Havering fell to Greg Carolan after a blistering run from James Downey set him up. Unfortunately, Greg managed to not convert the opportunity 2 feet from goal, with what will be arguably the miss of the season.

The 2nd half came and Braintree began to dominate possession more, but surprisingly didn't create many chances. This was until a killer pass was played through the middle of the park to an unmarked attacker who deftly converted the opportunity to make it 3-0. After a few minutes, a 4th was converted for the hosts which sealed all 3 points.

However, credit to Havering, they didn't let their heads drop at any stage of the game and at the dying stages, Havering were awarded a penalty flick which Sam Green put away easily.

There were some notably good performances (even though the scoreline doesn't reflect that) from man of the match Mitchell Cuttell and the 3, 3's players who helped immensely - James Downey, Taylor Ahmad and Gareth Cast.

Havering will now look to concentrate on their next 2 crucial games against local rivals Romford and Upminster.
