A string of injuries left the Havering 2's hampered this week but they persevered in the very late summer weather.
Havering started off on the back foot with R&I peppering the goal. However, 10 minutes in there was a press from the Havering front line which led to the R&I defence losing the ball - Sam Green poached on this opportunity and rocketed a ball into the top right of the goal.
Unfortunately, this didn't do much to stem the tide of the game and R&I kept up the relentless pressure. They eventually got their goal through the middle of the pitch and Havering began to tire. R&I scored 3 more goals in the 2nd half which all but sealed the 3 points for them.
There were some notably good performances from Bill Birbeck, Sam Green and Taylor Ahmad, with Taylor making a double goal line save to keep the scoreline to 4-1. However, a combination of a lack of basics, fitness and a raft of injuries, Havering just could not compete.
The 2's will look to bounce back next weekend against bottom of the table Braintree.
