Havering traveled to St Albans to play Harpenden hoping to make it back to back wins for the first time this season and were without the services of Chris Dunn, Ollie Cipa, Mike Hinton and Mike Smith. Nik Males continued in goal and Luke Joslin was bought up from the 2's.

In the early stages Havering controlled possession of the ball but were unable to create any clear opportunities, Males was called into action on two occasions coming out quickly off his line to smother the ball. Havering won the first penalty corner of the match with Gaz Ingram testing the home goalkeeper. Continuing to push forward another corner was awarded, Alastair Lewis strike deflected off a defenders stick and looped over the goalkeeper to give Havering the lead.

Harpenden responded well and won a brace of penalty corners, the first was blocked by Paul Johnson and the second went narrowly wide from a deflection on the penalty spot. Adam Lumbers aerial then set Harry Andrews through on goal but the keeper was on hand to block the shot.

In the second half Havering struggled to keep any meaningful possession of the ball but still created some clear opportunities, Ingram twice had reverse stick shots saved by the Harpenden keeper and then a defender on the line. Connor Poulain went close as did Stuart Garnell however it was Harpenden who had the chance of the half with just minutes remaining, a run and cross from the right found two attackers with an empty goal to aim out but the ball was put wide when it seemed easier to score. Havering held on in the final minutes to claim all three points.

Havering must up their game if they are to stand any chance against early league favorites Saffron Walden at Campion on Saturday.
