Havering Men - 3 St Ives Men -3
This week havering took on st ives. Havering got off to an explosive start showing their true potential and slotting two past the opposition keeper early on. One was a well placed penalty flick by Gaz Ingram and another a well executed short corner routine. However, St Ives looked to earn a bit of respect back from the home team going into the half time intermission allowing them a late goal from a short corner that came off the stick of defender Adam Lumbers into his own goal.
Although still looking strong Havering struggled to find the net as easily in the second half. St Ives managed to come out in the second half with more desire for the game and this half was more evenly matched. St Ives got a break away to make the score 2-2.
Some lovely work from the Havering midfield and strikers saw the home side looking dangerous once more as they made the score 3-2. This was shortly after a goal had been disallowed during a short corner routine with the shot adjudged to have been struck too high although the ball had appeared to take a deflection from the defenders stick.
St Ives once again piled on some pressure to claim the ball in midfield and began to again move the ball well. Their efforts eventually paid off and St Ives grabbed the equaliser with a nice deflection by the St Ives striker late on in the game.
The final score was 3-3.
Havering are too take on local rivals Upminster next week. 1pm at Coopers School.
