Havering made to pay for poor home performance
A cold and windy Saturday saw Havering host Waltham Forest at Campion with the away side coming in with a rich vein of form. This form was shown from the outset and caught Havering with their backs to the wall for the opening period. Struggling to get out from the back and being overrun in midfield Waltham Forest capitalised on this pressure and found themselves with good chances in front of goal. The pressure led to an early goal and when they continued to press they found themselves two up within quick succession. Havering slowly started to find their feet in the game with more possession however no real chances came as the first half ended.
The second half saw Havering continue off from the latter end of the first half and command more possession. This led to a series of short corners with precisely put onto Paul Johnson’s stick who deflected it in. The continued pressure led to more short corners and good possession around the D however with poorly executed shorts and a lack of composure meant the game finished 2-1 to the visitors.
