Despite losing 2-0 to Wapping the league have awarded Havering a 5-0 win due to the home side fielding a suspended player.

After two good results last weekend Havering were hoping to carry on this form against 2nd place Wapping at Lee Valley. The game started as expected, Wapping played a fast and aggressive game and pressed Havering hard. This pressure led to a burst through the middle from the home side’s midfield and to their first goal, a shot blocked but put in on the rebound. Havering tried to find more possession however the Wapping team continued to make this difficult and when a free ball found its way to a forward running midfielder, a simple pass to a Wapping striker at the top of the D meant a clean strike found the bottom corner. The away team did start to find more possession and threatened the Wapping goal near the end of the first half – noticeably a through ball made its way to Harry Andrew on the penalty spot but the keeper was quick off his line to block the shot.

The second half lost its flow as a series of questionable tackles and altercations between both teams lead to both sides being down from their full playing quota. Havering used this time to press the Wapping goal but when two great opportunities didn’t find the back of the net at short corners there wasn’t going to be a comeback and the final whistle went with the score still at 2-0.
