Havering Men were back in action this weekend against the fast running, student side. The visitors started brightly but after 5 minutes Havering began to take control in the midfield and Cambridge then found it hard to break down the solid Havering defensive line of Alistair Lewis, Harry Jenkins, Jack Barlow and Lewis Smith. Stuart Garnell and Liam Appleyard had a couple of good chances to put the home side ahead midway through the first half but Cambridge did well to block both efforts. Havering's goalkeeper, Lee Bennett, ably dealt with the infrequent Cambridge attacks and made a spectacular sliding save on the stoke of half time. Havering continued to control the game in the second period although they had no clear cut chances until Harry Andrews fired in a short corner strike with 15 minutes to go and this was enough to secure the three points.
