Men's 1's bring a point back from the long trip to Norfolk

A strong performance for Havering 1st XI as they secured a point away to 2nd in the league Norwich. After a long break due to Christmas and the freezing weather it was good to be back playing and putting in a promising performance. The game started at a good pace and whilst both defences held the ball well it was a fight in midfield for control of the game. Havering came out on top of this battle which progressed them up the pitch and led to their only short corner of the game, which was deflected in by Alex Lee at the back post. Havering doubled their lead shortly after with a well worked team goal, that saw a short aerial picked up on the right hand side complemented with some clever passing leaving Chris Dunn with an easy tap in. This margin didn’t last for long however and Norwich’s pressure saw them pull a goal back before half time when a loss ball in the D was guided home. The second half saw more pressure from Norwich and on the whole Havering dealt with this well however one too many opportunities arose and a well struck shot found the corner of the goal to level the game. The resulting 15 minutes of the half saw great opportunities for both teams to win the game however the final whistle went with the score at 2-2.
