Havering 1's vs Hertford 1's

The 1st XI started brightly against the visitors who at the time of play sat several positions lower than Havering in the table.

The home side retained possession for much of the opening period, utilising the experienced defensive line to patiently transfer the ball across the pitch and build play well.

Regrettably it was the visitors who scored first via a breakaway opportunity and Havering found themselves down by one with only 15 minutes played.

As the half progressed Havering settled back into the game, and dealt well with the visitors physicality and direct style of play but unfortunately failed to covert despite a handful of opportunities.

The equaliser finally came on the 33rd minute when Harry Andrews converted from a short corner for the second time in as many weeks. The half closed 1-1

Havering started as they finished the first half utilising a patient play style to build long periods of possession but were unable to capitalise. It was the visitors who assumed the advantage after the 50 minute mark and went a goal up via a well drilled penalty corner.

It was not to be Havering’s day as they unfortunately missed from the spot and were unable to take the upper hand in the closing stages of the match despite Hertford going down to ten for an extended period of time.

The fixture came to a frustrating end for Havering and closed out at 2-1.
