Just one of those days...

Havering travelled to Hertford for their 7th league match hoping to add to this season's points tally.

Grey skies and a deluge of rain compounded a miserable start to the game for Havering who found themselves down to 10 after 5 minutes and on the back foot.

Havering absorbed the additional strain from being light one man and the experienced side began to assume control.

Alas despite possession aplenty for the visiting side, Hertford were first to score against the run of play as their forward dispatching a well executed reverse stick strike.

Havering reacted well to being one nil down and continued to press high up the pitch maintaining the ball for much of the time. Havering’s tenacity soon paid dividends as Oliver Hinton’s through ball to debutant Luke Alexandrou resulted in a foul in the D which was deemed worthy of a penalty stroke. Paul Dover stepped up and converted the flick with ease.

Half time came and went, Havering continued their positive style of play in the second half but were undone once again by Hertford who favoured a more physical, counterattacking approach.

Havering picked themselves up once more and despite winning short corners galore in the second half it was not to be their day with the match ending 2-1.
