Hat Trick Hero Andrews leads Havering to Comprehensive Win

Unlike the previous two games of the season, Havering started the game against City of Peterborough 3’s on the front foot by pressing high and hunting down every ball. This led to two excellent goals by Andrews, the first of which coming from a precise hit from a tight angle and the second as a result of good poaching instincts when deflecting ahead of the opponents’ goalkeeper. Havering continued to assert themselves strongly after these two early goals by launching wave after wave of attack. Garnell finalised a good counter attacking move that he himself had started for Havering’s third; while Dover struck from a short corner move to round off a very convincing first 25 minutes.

Havering could allow themselves to slow down the pace in the second half but this did not stop the goals flooding in. Ollie Cipa converted a penalty flick and this was a well deserved reward for a player whose work rate was exceptional throughout the game. Andrews grabbed his third to cap a man of the match performance while Dunn got his first two goals of the season with two trademark finishes for a final 8-0 scoreline.

This was a very accomplished performance by every one of the Havering players over all areas of the field. The defence was solid and punctual, intensity in midfield was high, and the movement in attack to open up spaces, excellent. It is a must that the team makes the most out of the momentum gained.
